A Home for The Holidays!

Hi everyone!

I am here because I need a home for my family. If I can accomplish it by Christmas that would be amazing! We are homeless because of a series of events over the last year or so. 

What the money will be used for

First $3000-4000: moving expenses- cost to get from here to there and getting into a rental. A little capital to work with to move our business and find jobs. 

$4000-8000: down payment on a fixer type home. 

$8000-15000: down or full payment on home plus some working capital fix start renovations. 

$15000-20000: purchase of home plus ability to do some major renovating. 

The reward is a picture drawn by one of my kiddos. They would like to contribute, and this is how! They would like to know what subject to draw to customize the picture- this is one of their favorite activities. 

History

I lost my mother to alcoholism two weeks after my twenty first birthday. I did not have kids at the time, but I swore to myself that if I did have the blessing of children in my life, I would not use any substances to get through day to day life- and this is something I have been strong about to this day 12 years later. 

I now have three beautiful but very young children. I feel very blessed! I have been raising them with my husband free of assistance. I started a business with my husband that did well until the local flooding.

A year ago I lost my father to alcoholism related cancer. It has been devastating since he was my children's last grandparent on my side of the family. We moved to be close to him during his battle with cancer. He fought for three years an ended up succumbing to a large brain tumor. Now we are here with no other help or family. My husband's family is all one thousand miles away. They are unable to help us financially for a variety of reasons. We would get help with the kiddos and moral support if we were close. 

We recovered from my father's passing and pressed hard to get our small business here rolling. We lost income due to the local flooding. We moved due to health impacts from the mold from the flooding. Our new rental was rented to us with the landlord's knowledge that it was infested with bed bugs. He refused to remedy the situation and now almost all of our belongings are ruined. We were left with no real possessions, no where to live and no where to work. Our valuable warm days for our business were behind us amidst the chaos of our living situation. 

Everything seems to be spiraling downward out of control now! Every time we take a step forward, some thing breaks or goes wrong- and we are three steps back.

Future

I am putting this campaign together so we can get on our feet once again And have a HOME! :)

Both my husband and I are talented and hard working people. We have put our resume into thirty potential employers in this area. Honestly, since marijuana has been legalized rent has more than doubled and we we are priced out of the market having children. We are ready to move to a more affordable area near my husband's family. There are cheap homes in the area due to the recession. Both my husband and I are decent at remodeling anf could take a very cheap property and make it into a home for ourselves. 

We plan on using the money to purchase a home needing rehabbed and put sweat equity into it to have a good home for our kids. The job market is at a similar place as Denver for pay, but the cost of living is half- making this a opportunity that would benefit us tremendously. We have no way to get to this point on our own- we have tried everything we can on our own and have exhausted our resources. 

My sweet and wonderful kids deserve a stable and stable home. they have lost more in their short lives than many have as adults.
