Campaign Story
Earlier in July the team at Borg Warner TurboSystems and Zach raised £1750.00 for Progeria UK! Zach has been suffering from Progeria for 10 years and Zach has also been participating in Progeria Marathon for years and will continue to do so because that is something that he enjoys very much! Progeria only effect 80 people in the entire world!
Hello, I am Jenny Crowther, my son has Progeria which is a progressive genetic disorder that causes children to age rapidly. My son is currently 17 years old, when he was 7 years old he was sent to a Hospital in Montana to where he was diagnosed with this extremely rare disorder. Since then being a single mother has been hard but i spend all my time with Zach which makes things a lot better! Zach is my entire world and I only want what is best for him. Even though he may look different he means the world to me and i cherish everyday that he is kept in my life because that is another bright light in my day. I do not know what i would do without Zach, we spend our entire day together because he is the center of my life. Zach has been in and out of the doctors every 3 months for the past year and we were notified about an exciting opportunity that can help him out!
We want to send him from Seattle to Australia to visit Dr. Huginkis at Albany Health. If we can raise enough money we are going to be put on a 72 week trial treatment and test how it works! Zach is overwhelmed with the love and support he has already got and it more than excited to start this treatment. We hope to be in Australia for Christmas!
