Debbie needs surgery

Meet Debbie, our family dog.

She came to our home as a surprise puppy when my mother's ex-boyfriend got her as a present to my mom. I always wanted a dog as a kid and had to wait 17 years to experience what it's like to have such a good girl around.

After 3-4 years my mom broke up with her boyfriend and Debbie stayed with the guy. I begged my mom to take Debbie with her, because the guy was not an animal lover to say the least. On multiple occasions I saw him abuse her in different ways. My mom didn't want Debbie in her new house. I begged my dad to take her in, into his home but to no avail. I was in college in a different town most of the time, living in various rented apartments through the years, and it wasn't an option to take Debbie with me. So the only possible way forward was, to take her from my mom's ex when I was in my hometown and take her back when I went back to college. I had to keep my mouth shut everytime I saw the guy hurt her during the years, fearing if I say something wrong, he will just not let me take her anymore. Once when I took Debbie out I noticed she was walking funny. She had a nail growing backwards, into her flesh. The guy didn't care. It was heartbreaking for Debbie and me too, everytime I had to take her back, but she was so happy everytime I came back.

Flash forward to 2020. If there's one positive thing about the current outbreak, is that it got me and Debbie closer. Since now I'm able to work mostly from home, my dad agreed to let me take Debbie into our home. Now we are hanging out 24/7. I started taking to the vet more and more to get all the medical attention that she missed out on during the years. It wasn't all good news.

Her whole underside is full of tumors. She's not in any pain yet, but the doctor says it's like a ticking time bomb. All her breasts should be removed.

Money did get a little bit tighter during the pandemic for us. It's weird asking for money from strangers on the internet, I never thought I would do it, but I really need some help now. The 1000 EUR would cover the 2 surgeries needed (the area is so big, it can't be done in one) plus the necessary tests before and after the surgeries plus the meds.
