The Thethani Debating League

The Thethani Debating League is South Africa's largest NGO development League. We work with 15 under-resourced schools throughout Cape Town's townships, giving more than 200 talented learners access to debating, weekly workshops, and year-round tournaments! Our learners are empowered to raise their voices on important social issues and become active citizens while developing critical thinking, public speaking and language skills. Our learners are also invited onto provincial and national teams every year. In short, this organisation means that deserving South African youths are accessing opportunities that establish a strong foundation for their futures.
