We are a production team of third year film students who have come together to make the best graduation short film we can manage. We have made the ambitious decision to make a science fiction film for our final graduation project. This will feature a spaceship and an astronaut in space.
Our project follows James, an astronaut stranded in space after suffering a collision with a solar storm. He must make desperate attempts for his distress signal to be heard before another storm threatens to destroy his ship.
'Beyond' is a story that speaks of isolation and the human need for connection in times of tragedy.
We would love all the help we could possibly get to make this project come to life. If all goes well considering Covid-19, you will have the opportunity to watch the final product in cinema.
With your help we will be able to fund the following for our film:
- Material for our film set
- Costume, make up and styling
- Resources for post-production ( we will be working with lots of VFX)

Test Shoot
Update posted by Motselisi Mosebo at 10:04 amWe had a test shoot for our graduation concept last week. This made us realise how much in depth planning we need to have done if we want a smooth shoot, especially if its going to involve such heavy visual effects. We believe with enough thorough planning and trouble shooting. . . . .
Location Scouting
Update posted by Motselisi Mosebo at 09:29 pmMeet the crew! Two weeks back we had a location scout, and a very intensive discussion about blocking and planning in the quiet surroundings of Krugersdorp. Grateful to have found this location
Change In Script Direction
Update posted by Motselisi Mosebo at 08:59 pmAfter many a consult with lecturers, the direction of the film has changed from focusing on the "by-stander effect" to rather focusing on "dissociation" or "avoidance behaviour" a common trait in people who have experienced trauma. Through our film we explore the normalisation of trauma in the South African community,
