Campaign Story
When we started this project, we noticed that the only ladders that had any stability whatsoever were Painter's ladders, and those were really cumbersome with their non-adjusting bases. We wanted to create something that could be attached to the ladder, and when the user was done, could be safely stowed back on (or in) a standard service truck. With the prototype now complete, we have several things that we need to accomplish, and that's where you all come in.
First, the ladder is unnecessarily heavy. As was described in the preceding investor video, the added weight makes the ladder pretty unwieldy. With the help of an engineer, we should be able to shave off about 60% of the weight from each side, while maintaining structural integrity.
Second, once the Side Kicks have undergone their update, we need to have it OSHA certified. This will require inspection of the device, both during production, and periodically thereafter to insure they meet the standards set by OSHA. Once this is complete, everyone can feel confident that these are indeed safer than a standard ladder.
Third, we'll need to advertise. As many of you probably know, advertising is not cheap. We would like to have an aggressive ad campaign prepared as they go on sale, so that we can get them into everyone's hands as soon as possible.
