Hello! Some of you may know me and some not. For those of you who don’t, my name is Dominick, Nicki for short, I’m 24 years old and I live in Brasília, Brazil. Some of you may know me from the time that I live in the USA. I moved back to Brazil in 2009. I’m a bachelorette in International Relations and also a Law student. I’m asking for this donation because, in November, I applied for the 23rd Youth Assembly that will happen at New York University on the 15th-17th of February of this year, 2019.

The Youth Assembly is an event organized by the Friendship Ambassadors Foundation. At The Youth Assembly, young leaders from around the world gather to tackle the world's greatest challenges. Participants discover fresh insights and solutions, inspire others with their work, and form lasting connections with peers and seasoned leaders from NGOs, businesses, and international bodies and agencies. The 23rd Session of The Youth Assembly takes the theme of “Empowering Youth for Global Development”.

As I explained before, I live in Brazil and the event is going to take place in NYC. The costs of the event, which include: admission fee, flight tickets, accommodation, transportation, meals and etc are all to the responsibility of the applicant. The total price to participate in Brazilian Real (BRL) is absurd converting from dollars. If you’re Brazilian, you know how much our coin is extremely invaluable and expensive, especially if you want to travel abroad. In the end of 2018 I left my job because of moral and sexual harrasment. I’ve received a new job offer, but I still haven’t started. Therefore, I don’t have the amount of money that I need to participate in the event. I have a passport and a Tourist Visa. At least those costs are out of the picture. My family also can’t afford the total amount in BRL. Things aren’t that well with my country’s economy. In the mean time, I’ve been working as a freelance makeup artist and graphic designer. I also bake cookies. But I still haven’t been able to raise up that much money. Only half of the admission fee which is 234USD, but in Brazil it’s 900BRL. That’s why I created this page to earn up to 2500USD by February 1st so I can pay all of the fees and participate in this amazing opportunity. From many people around the world, I’ve been selected to be one of the people who will represent my country.

Personally, attending the Youth Assembly will prove to be a most valuable resource for my professional and personal development. The connections that I will make through the Youth Assembly will be of much importance in expanding the scope and forming partnerships with other non-profits and NGOs to help me out in my own community in the causes/organizations that I work/volunteer for; will help me in starting my own non-profit organization, which I plan on taking in, in my city on human rights and SDG's towards children and teenagers, and so much more. My dreams will finally leave the paper and become reality. It is an amazing platform where I'll be able to give and receive; learn and teach; I'll interact with people from around the world in a manner which was, maybe, never possible for any of us to do alone before; and most importantly I'll be representing my country, Brazil. Brazil is a country that really needs to stand out and pay more attention to the topics held at the Youth Assembly. The opportunities will be even more open on making a lasting impact on the world, and it is through these realizations that the world will change.

Hope you can help me! I’d really appreciate it. God bless!

Xoxo.
