Campaign Story
Many whitewater kayakers and squirtboaters, who have traveled to Japan, know our friend Hiro Enomoto. He is a gracious host, opening his house, in the Sagamiko area, to "international" travelers every year. He's always willing to help a "gaijin" find their way down a local river in Japan.
On 30 September 2018, Japan was hit by Super Typhoon Trami. The Sagamiko area sustained substantial flooding and subsequently the INIT storage house on Sagamiko (Lake), owned by Hiro, was practically destroyed. His inventory of kayaks and canoes, suffered no damage - just the storage house . The remaining structure will have to be demolished and rebuilt.
The estimated cost of materials, for the rebuild is around $1,500- $3,000. This does not include labor costs as much of the work is done by Hiro and many of his friends. The paddling community is setting up this fundraiser to show our appreciation and support to Hiro who gives so much to the international boating community and asks nothing in return.
