Campaign Story
A couple of years ago when the Earthquake hit Nepal, I became friends with the owner and Director of SAV kindergarten School in Dang, Nepal, Govinda and his wife Sudha who used to work for an NGO trying to get girls from rural parts of Nepal into education but now works at the school with Govinda, a school they built with their bare hands, from scratch.
I was chatting to Govinda today (September 25th) and he told me that the wifi contract for his school has ended and he is trying to find sponsorship for the year ahead. I asked him how much it would cost and he told me it was $300 for the year. Govinda and Sudha do an amazing job and now have 95 pupils enrolled at the school. Some of the children’s parents and grandparents walk long distances to bring their little ones to school and if you look at the photos on their FB page (Tri Ka), you can see why.
All children have the right to a good education and these days the internet plays a crucial part. If we can pay for the school’s wifi connection between us, we can make sure these children are part of the global community. It’s a small thing … but the impact will be enormous. Thank you!
