Campaign Story
Our tiny Cinder bunny has had tooth problems his whole life. Rabbits teeth never stop growing so if they don't align properly they will overgrow and cause all kinds of problems including eye, sinus, and ear infections along with the inability to eat. Sometimes Cinders bottom molars were so long that they were right across the pallet on the top of his mouth. We have a couple of these incredible "L" shaped teeth from past surgeries.
At 8 years old Cinder was needing dental surgery every five months to keep up with his forever growing teeth. He was under anesthesia too much and it was taking more and more time for him to wake up so our vet sent us to Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in N. Grafton MA to have all of his teeth removed. They have incredible technology there for dealing with tiny animals and an anesthesiologist monitoring during the procedure. Cinders eating soft pellets at this time so having no teeth made no difference.
Cinder had a CAT scan during his physical and they found he had a tooth and it's roots inside his right nasal cavity!!!! Everyone was shocked, his breathing capacity was about 25%. This meant they needed to go in from the top of his nose to extract everything out and give him 100% breathing back. This is called a Rhinotomy Procedure which was an extra $800.
All together his bill is $2895.00 and we are hoping that people can find it in their hearts to help us in our time of need to pay off some of this bill. We have done many successful fund raisers for other people and hope this is just as successful. Thank you from Cinder and his loving Mom and Dad.

Rest In Peace my Little Man, I loved you with my heart and soul.
Update posted by Elizabeth Bly at 04:13 pmI can't believe that I'm writing this. Cinder passed away while he was at the vets (Tufts). We are not positive on what happened, just that he stopped breathing and they performed CPR for at least 20 minutes. It was horrible because Cinders Dad and myself were not with him. . . . .

Hi Liz! We lost our Piggles to dental issues from a previously abusive human who kicked him in the face at 6 weeks old, so I definitely feel your pain. I'm not working right now, but I hope this contribution will help Cinder to get the care required! Much love and hugs to you both.

It's so disappointing that so few people are supporting you after you've done so much for so many others Liz especially as you are stuck with this big bill even though your precious Cinder did not recover and come home to you. ((Hugs))
