American Music Abroad – Jimmy Kelly

Hi, my name is Jimmy Kelly and I am a sophomore at Delsea Regional High School in Franklinville, NJ.

I’ve recently had the honor of being invited to participate in a three week concert tour of Europe this summer with the American Music Abroad Gold Tour, and I am writing in the hope that you might help in sponsoring my participation.

               I am an honor student who has studied percussion since I was 10 years old. I’ve had great success with my playing, and have had the honor of being appointed the Captain of the Pit section in my high school marching band and playing timpani in my high school concert band.

               My activities in high school also include: Soccer, Wrestling, and Peer Mediation. I am also active with the Bonsal Blues Band. I play timpani with the concert band and bass drum with the parade band. Recently, I have been volunteering with the Gloucester County Hero Scholarship Fund and helping out with their annual ride to remember.

               The cost for my participation in this tour of Europe is about $5100. This is a very sizable sum of money for me, one that I cannot raise by myself. I’m hoping you will join my friends, family, teachers, local businesses, and service organizations in helping to sponsor this once in lifetime opportunity for me.
