Campaign Story
In 2021, our father was diagnosed with aggressive IgA, a rare disease that affects the kidneys. By mid 2022, he was at stage 5, meaning kidney failure. Searching for a donor from extended family was difficult as members from his side had pre-existing medical issues. But his is unique amongst his family.
A close family friend recommended a specialist in Singapore who informed them that a transplant from my mother was possible despite a different blood group. Without hesitation, our mother opted to donate her healthy organ to my father. At the time of writing this, our mother has now been discharged, with our father to hopefully follow in a few days.
Currently their operation expenses are about 100,000 SGD. Both our parents have maxed out their savings, and both insurances are unable to cover the full cost. We are also still expecting more costs to come and we 4 children are doing our part to help shoulder this financial burden. I, Gabriel, the eldest son, am currently taking on odd jobs while studying. Gilda, my sister and the second eldest, is working multiple freelance projects. Grace, our sister and the third child, just started her school's internship program. Gwen, our youngest sister, is also working part-time while in secondary school.
We greatly appreciate any support you can give to us as we help our parents recover. Thank you in advance and may God bless your kindness and generosity.

Keep you and family in prayer and may you both your parents heal completely.
More Catching Up
Update posted by Gabriel Patrick Quintero at 05:48 amA bit of time has passed since the surgery and our last update, home life has definitely gotten better as our parents slowly get their mobility back. Dad has gotten back to his gardening, just a matter of building back up his stamina and the body mass he lost. Mom

Update posted by Gabriel Patrick Quintero at 12:39 pmWe are so grateful for the amount of support we had received, from the bottom of hearts we thank you. Both our parents have now gotten their stitches removed and are recovering well at home. Our father can now at least keep food down and his appetite has returned. Mother
