HK$16,200Donated So Far
We are 28DAYS, a charity founded by Beatrix Lepsoe, Anusha Muralikrishna and Ellie Kim. As young, female students in Hong Kong, we have witnessed the extreme deficit of menstrual awareness in our community. The lack of period resources is apparent not only in our schools, but in groups of women citywide.
Our aim is to raise funds for FreePeriodsHK, a non-profit organisation that helps distribute sustainable period products. Donations will go towards purchasing eco-friendly, reusable products such as menstrual cups, which will then be distributed to low income women here in Hong Kong so that we can help combat the long term financial burden that comes with purchasing disposable products monthly.
Period poverty is a growing problem. As market prices rise, the cost of period products are also increasing, totalling to about 50 HKD a month, and 35,100 HKD in costs per lifetime. By providing sustainable products, we can not only support low-income women and provide access to resources needed to manage their menstrual health safely, but also help reduce the effect of disposable products on the environment.
We want to work towards a world where menstruation is no longer dirty or shameful. The money raised will also go towards funding educational Period-themed workshops, hoping to destigmatize discussions about periods within men and women. Be a part of this journey by donating today!
