2 New Hips to Walk

2 New Hips is what we need for my oldest sister Kalinka, to walk normal again. I am so thankful and humbled by your good deeds and feel hopeful and a bit relieved to add my fundraising campaign on this site.

My sister, Kalinka Potgieter, born 1980/09/15, currently living in Cape Town is in serious need for surgery, but she and us, as a family are unable to afford it. She is the sole provider and only living parent of her 9 year old son. She is having severe mobility issues due to bilateral arthritis in both her hips.

Orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. De Jongh insisted she have both hips replaced as x-rays states that her condition is severe and in need of immediate surgery. Her condition will only worsen and may lead to total immobility in due course. She currently uses crutches but she is in constant pain.

At the age of 38 she gets up every morning for work as she still needs to provide for herself and her young son. She is without immediate family in Cape Town. Her condition deteriorates week by week. The government hospital's waiting list is more than 12 months and might exceed 24 months, it is uncertain.

I hereby request any donation towards Kalinka's surgery as we are running out of time. Kindly help us help her not to reach total immobility. 2 new hips is all we need.
