10K RACE TO HELP MILO HEAR

Hi everyone!

I have decided to tackle the 10k race in Crawley, West Sussex on Sunday 15th September - my own personal "battle" as I have lazily not done any training since my wife got pregnant, so I have a month to prepare myself for a race around a multi-terrain track, finishing on an athletics track at the sports stadium.

My reason for doing this is to raise money for the 5-year-old son of two of our best friends.

Earlier this year Milo Shackleton, of Hornchurch, Essex, was diagnosed with a Cholesteatoma, a rare, serious and potentially fatal disease. Cholesteatoma is an aggressive growth that forms behind the eardrum and left untreated will continue growing daily until it eventually reaches his brain. A pioneering operation costing £10,000 is available privately and, unlike NHS treatment, lasers/vaporises the growth completely, which means that Milo will keep most of his hearing, be able to swim (which he loves!) and most importantly, prevent the disease from coming back.

Please support this worthy cause so that Milo can lead a normal, healthy life, and fulfil his dream of being a kung fu champion and to swim again. In return, I will do my best to post a time under an hour (lol) and post photos of me looking bedraggled at the end. My pregnant wife has also offered to wait patiently for me at the finish line.....so she deserves sponsorship herself!! haha.
