TheGamesDB.net is an open, online database for video game fans. We are driven by a strong community to provide the best place to find information, covers, backdrops screenshots and videos for games, both modern and classic. Our service is used by numerous other projects and applications across the web and the globe.

If you are familiar with us, you may have noticed that we had some performance issues on the site and API recently…

This was due to a severe and ongoing DDoS on our service, along with attempts to hijack the server.

To combat the attacks, we have just migrated to a new server, at additional cost to ourselves, which is of a much more higher specification, so we hope to see some improvement in site performance, especially under high load. We also would like to take extra precautions to prevent the same issue from occuring again in the future, but this also requires extra expenditure.

The total funding we have received to date to help keep the site running is a figure below $70, donated mainly by a very generous single individual who had seen some revenue from his project that used our service… we have been going for over four years now and fund this free service out of our own pockets as a labour of love. We have no other source of site revenue, and our operating costs are ever increasing. We try to do the best we can to provide a good service that is financially viable and will continue to do so.

It would be of great assistance to us, if we could raise some funds to aid us to keep the site alive as it continues to grow... It would also allow us to expand on our current offerings.
