Help us move house!

Okay so here goes. I don’t want to come across all violins and heartstrings but we need help. I’ve had to think creatively as to how I can raise some money in a short space of time and selling my TV/children/socks on Ebay just isn’t going to cut it. I’ve spent a lot of time lately trying to think of ways to make this happen and then after a rather successful campaign by a dear friend of mine I have been inspired to give this crowdfunding thing a go - after all, what have I got to lose?

Who are we?

I’m a 38 year old mum to 9 year old son “J” and 4 year old daughter “R”. Leia, Willow and Maxwell and the adorable Sasha are our 4 legged furries that bring us lots of love, cuddles and the occasional mouse (mnbt!*). We live in a house by the sea and up until now this has been everything we have wanted. But now we have to move :(  

Here’s the backstory.

2 years ago our landlady died and her estate went into probate. Earlier on this year it was finally granted and our house went up for auction, with me and my children as sitting tenants. The house was bought and now the owner has decided that as opposed to keeping us on here he now wants the house back. I have 6 weeks to find somewhere to live, to raise the funds with which to do so and to pack our lives into boxes to be transported to an as yet unknown location. I have looked at what we can afford to rent on a monthly basis and I am looking for somewhere nearby so I don’t have to totally uproot the children from their lives and move them from their schools. They’ve been through enough with their father and I seperating just a year ago and to take them away from their friends will set them back I’m sure. I remember moving when I was 6 years old and it made me so sad to leave them all behind. I also have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (also known as ME) caused by my last house move but like I said at the start I don't want to make this all heartstrings and violins, I just want to present you with the facts (I'm not good at playing the victim, can you tell?).  

What do we need?

We desperately need to raise enough money to be able to pay for: -

• 1st month’s rent in advance
• Deposit (usually 1 month’s rent and additional amount for pets)
• Letting agent’s fees Moving expenses (Van hire/removals etc.)
• The charges levied by the crowdfunding site (6.9% + 20p per transaction)

There are other costs involved such as connection costs for phone, TV and internet and suchlike but as these are nonessential I’m not going to include them as they are luxuries.

How you can help?

I know what it is like living hand to mouth on a daily basis so all I am asking for is £1. If you DO wish to donate more then thank you, this will mean I will need to raise less overall due to PayPal's transaction charge but I don’t wish to ask for more than someone might consider donating in the street. All in all I am estimating somewhere in the region of about £2,500 (plus the crowdfunding site charges). All that I will ask is that if you read this (regardless of whether you donate or not) please will you share it to your friends as my time is running out.  

I am desperate to try and keep our little family together (by this I mean keeping the furries) and if I can't get the funds together to secure a place for us then we'll probably have to say goodbye to our four legged friends and that's one conversation I really can't face with my kids, let alone have to deal with the goodbyes.
