Poppy as she was known, (pending name change for her new life) is a 2yr 3month old American Bull Dog. She was sold on the 7/2/15 from Sheffield to a Doncaster family. Unfortunately she went from a family life with the freedom of the house, to a family where she was put in a crate on both sat / sunday with the door locked overnight. Came Monday the 9th Feb, she saw her opportunity to run and sure she did for the following 11 days, in full season with a possible prolapse in a strange place, a big scary place scared of the dark fending for herself. We tracked her, followed her even watch her chasing rabbits / pheasants for food. Traveling from Redhouse in Woodlands to Scaswby, only to be seen first thing, hiding mid day and to appear late afternoon when things were quiet, sleeping where ever she could but her head down. After days of tracking the dog who was in scare mode, and figuring this lass out, herded her into the grounds of a scout hut locked the gate and first time in 11 days could give a sigh. That was it she was caught. The few people that were out did a superb job, driving with hazards on, jumping out of cars to stop traffic, running up and down fields to keep her off the roads. Too cutting down trees as we had her pinned in a corner now with nowhere to go. We now have her safe, no more running, no more hunting for food. She is safe for the 1st time in nearly 2 weeks. She's been seen by the vet and requires some treatment. She needs the following to help kick start her new life,  Further medical treatment, operation to repair the prolase, spay and unfortunally terminate any pregnancy which if is is would be in the early stages. Quartarise the ear as it's not stopped bleading and also to vacinate. The cuts and no pads on her feet will heal in time. Bedding, Lead, Collar and good quality on food to gain some weight which she has lost over the last 2 weeks.  Some insurance. All this will help in getting her a good start to her new life, and rehabiliation as a small cat or dog looks at the moment as dinner to her. Please watch the attached links above. Thanks you for your support.

Spay.

Update posted by Gill Bird at 04:55 pm

Bella as she is now known, went into be spayed on the 20/3/15 and her 2nd vacination. All went well on the spay and the litter of pups that she was carrying were removed. This was the best option for her and the over population of unwanted dogs that are. . . . .

Thankyou safe and warm now.

Update posted by Gill Bird at 05:13 pm

We have made a little progress today and have managed to get a wag of the tail.  She is so untrusting of people and won't let her guard down but on the other hand loves to be with people showing no emotion at all. Her front pads are starting to. . . . .
