£8,358.00raised of £25,000.00 goal goal
Our story starts with a Beautiful Boy called Kai Laidlaw who is 2 years old. Kai was diagnosed with Infant ALL (Leukaemia) in September 2013 when he was 8 months old. Kai then spent the next year living in the Sick Kids Hospital in Edinburgh once he started to make progress he then attended the day Care a lot. However in March, a year and a half after diagnosis Kai relapsed and was very poorly doctors advised Kais family to stop treatment. However Kai kept fighting and they went to Glasgow in June for a bone marrow transplant there was complications but he was doing well. Kai was getting ready to return to Edinburgh in Septemeber when they were told the devastating news that Kais leukaemia had returned for the third time. Therefore Kai has had leukaemia for the third time and he is not even three years old.
Kai is now receiving a treatment from America on compassionate grounds that is not available here in the UK only a few have had it and no one as young as him even in America there is limited information for kids.
This is a scary time for the family as this drug won't cure Kai but we all hope it's enough to confuse the cancer to give Kai a chance at another transplant to save his life.
Kai and his family want his journey to count and raise awareness of Childhood Cancer.
However no matter what is thrown at Kai he is still smiling & laughing and simply put he is a Beautiful Boy!
Kai has a large following through social media and it was here through friends that a kind hearted gent called Kevin Perisi saw Kais story and wanted to help make a difference.
Kevin has wrote a song called Beautiful Boy which is a piano ballad of heartfelt emotion sung by the very talented Ellie Armetta which is dedicated to Kai. This song has topped the iTunes easy listening chart for weeks. This song is being rereleased on Friday 18th December at midnight to attempt to get this song to number 1! A Christmas number 1 for Childhood Cancer would be amazing!
Kevin has also set himself a mammoth task of walking 500 miles from Portsmouth to Glasgow on Saturday 21 November at 11am! Yes 500 Miles!! This man is crazy but determined he truly wants to make a difference to Children affected by Cancer he wants to give them a voice to be heard kevin has no personal ties with Childhood Cancer apart from a lot of empathy and love for Kai and children in a similar position.
We hope that everyone will dig deep and show their support for this amazing man and help him help all the amazing charities that help children going through cancer.
We can not explain in words how much this means to us all but we genuinely want to make a difference, to help, to make this little boys journey of pain count, to help families of the future.
Childhood cancer is real and it it will strike any child at any time. Knowledge is power and could save a life but we need money for research and cures.
Please help us!
