Campaign Story
Dear Family, Friends, and Kind Souls,
Our journey with our little warrior, Zeia, began uniquely.
Born just shy of premature at 37 weeks, she arrived in our world after a long labor and an emergency C-section. To everyone's surprise, Zeia had a "true knot" in her umbilical cord, a rare condition that occurs in less than 1% of pregnancies and carries risks like decreased oxygen and nutrient supply.
Despite this early scare, Zeia proved to be a miracle baby. However, our challenges weren't over. Zeia frequently spit up, more than what seemed usual. As first-time parents, we were reassured by relatives and medical staff that this was normal especially if we were still learning how to burp Zeia properly. But our instincts said otherwise.
After multiple consultations, formula changes, and our relentless push for answers, Zeia was diagnosed with Congenital Pyloric Stenosis at 5 months—a rare condition causing the baby not to properly digest and pass food, leading to persistent and forceful vomiting. This can result in severe dehydration and electrolyte imbalances, which are dangerous, particularly for infants. Additionally, the baby may experience significant weight loss and malnutrition due to the inability to retain food. These complications can be life-threatening if not addressed promptly with the necessary medical treatment - surgery.
Now, we face the reality of medical procedures, hospital stays, and the associated costs. Your support through this GoFundMe will help cover Zeia's surgery and care, relieving some of our financial burdens and allowing us to focus on her recovery.
We cherish your support, be it spiritual, financial, emotional, or through sharing our story. Every gesture brings hope and light to Zeia's journey.
With gratitude and love,
Zeia, Victoria & Zenen
