Hi My name is Marie Kris Binalla Perez, mother of precious, brave and blessed Athena and I’m here raising a funds as a mom who will do anything for my daughter.

My youngest daughter Athena is now 1 year old and currently suffering from the symptoms of SMA type 2 (Spinal Muscular Atrophy type 2) as the initial diagnosis, this is a neuromuscular disorder that affects the nerve cells that control voluntary muscles (motor neurons). Without treatment, progressive muscle weakness develops in babies with SMA2 between ages 6 and 12 months. Babies with SMA2 can sit without support, however, they cannot stand or walk independently. Feeding and breathing problems also develop.

Unfortunately, on her 8 months we noticed that she can’t even sit or hold her bottle, finger trembling. This is not already confirmed by the doctors and neurologist who checked-up on my daughter but the symptoms says it. So we need to undergo lots of laboratory test, medications to really figured out and have the result for this kind of delay in her development.

I am unemployed and unable to find a job as I am the only one currently taking care of my 4 kids including and with special attention to Athena. My husband is currently employed as a maintenance personnel in a mobile brand company in Taguig City and he is the only source of our income. However he barely earns enough for our regular daily needs such as foods, allowance in school, electricity and water bills and for the rent of the house. For the medical bills or funds that we need is depend on the family relatives that can lend us or at least give us to little by little complete a 1 day check-up.

In behalf of my family and daughter Athena, we are knocking in your hearts or please find it in your heart to help our baby Athena. All donations will go to her milks formula; laboratory tests such as CT Scan, Blood test, Creatinine/Kidney Test, Doctor’s fee, Medicines, etc. and transportation expenses going in and out the hospital.
