Project SDGs 101!!

Hello Everyone!! :)

My name is Aki. I am a Filipino-Japanese who is deeply devoted in raising awareness about different social issues within our society. Due to this devotion of mine, I decided to create a project which focus on educating the youth about Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Japan has been one of the countries who devotedly engage with the adoption of the 2030 agenda. It has been visible through the different posters and ads which can be seen all through out Japan. However, there is only a limited knowledge about what the true meaning of SDGs is. For this reason, I chose SDGs to be the main focus of my project.

My project is about providing a 2-day workshop for Japanese youth on how they can learn further information about SDGs and at the same time, they can share this information to other people. This workshop aims to teach the youth about SDGs in an active and fun way. In addition, this project aims to inform the youth about the role they can play in making a change within the community. In the current time, the youth has been very active in using different social medias. Through this workshop, the youth will be taught on how they can utilize these platforms in sharing vital information such as the SDGs.

I believe that having a better understanding of the different social issues through SDGs could help us in achieving a more peaceful world. This is also my small step trying to make a change in my community and hopefully to the World!
