Women’s Reproductive Health in the Philippines

At 28 years old, my first pregnancy led to a miscarriage due to a fibroid the size of a melon that had grown on my uterus. A week later, I underwent surgery where my uterus had to be removed - my dream of becoming a mother and bearing my own child was gone all of a sudden.

Had I known that there could have been ways to prevent a fibroid growing inside me, this would have been an otherwise successful pregnancy. No woman should have to suffer the pain I went through if only more people were aware of the measures they could take to be healthier.

This is why I want to start this fundraiser - to help fund a local cancer research center and to raise more awareness on female reproductive health in Philippines.
