My name is Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri, founder and Director of Development, Women in ICT Foundation with head office in Abuja, Nigeria.

Women in ICT Foundation is a non-for-profit organization with the focus of providing technology education for women, young and teenage girls for resolve the problems of under-representation of Women in the ICT industry and in the STEM profession.

Our primary aim is to inspire, enable and support all girls and women using ICT to give them a way for realizing their dreams, overcoming problems and exploring their potential for success. Women in ICT foundation empowers women through all aspects of life, at home, in education and at work.

I am raising funds on behalf of Women in ICT Foundation for the Development of an Incident Response Platform for the Reporting of Human Trafficking, Child Marriage, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence as a results of the suggestion and feedback we received from participants, Keynote speakers and some agencies of government during our recently concluded International Virtual Conference on Gender-Based Violence held on Sept. 5th, 2020 in Abuja, Nigeria.

Gender-based violence is a phenomenon deeply rooted in gender inequality, and continues to be one of the most notable human rights violations within all societies. Gender-based violence is violence directed against a person because of their gender. Both women and men experience gender-based violence but the majority of victims are women and girls.
Gender-based violence and violence against women are terms that are often used interchangeably as it has been widely acknowledged that most gender-based violence is inflicted on women and girls, by men. However, using the ‘gender-based’ aspect is important as it highlights the fact that many forms of violence against women are rooted in power inequalities between women and men.
