WA Womens Indoor Hockey Team Fundraiser

HELP US DEFEND OUR NATIONAL TITLE

Western Australia has a proud tradition of hockey in all forms and in recent times - not many teams have been as successful as the Senior Women's Indoor side. This team has won 4 National titles in the last 6 years. This year the tournament schedule has changed and the team will be travelling to the Eastern states to compete in the National Championships over New Years and through until January 6.

We feel this is a sneaky plot by the Eastern states to get an advantage over us as the cost of the flights and accomodation for us West Aussies sky rocket! Each player will by paying up to $2,500 to get over there for the tournament and at this stage that does not include covering the costs of an assistant coach, video tech or physio, which will be detrimental to the sides chances of defending their crown.

Each of these girls slug it out four times a week at scheduled training sessions lasting sometimes up to four hours each as well as working full time to cover costs and doing extra work on fitness and individual skills in their own time.

We are asking for your help to help bring these costs down. Two of our players have also been chosen to represent Australia in Europe following the tournament which is an extra $6,000 for each of them with the possibility of more being selected! Each of our 12 girls' dream is to be at the World Cup in 2015 and without participating at this National Tournament we would not be able to do this. We are already struggling to field our strongest side with people being unable to afford to go so PLEASE dig deep and help us out as EVERY AMOUNT HELPS!!
