In the summer of 2014 I had the opportunity to volunteer on a Care and Communtiy programme in Ghana. Due to this I decided to help in the Philippines this year and I really hope to raise more money so, whilst I am out there, the additional money raised can be used for building supplies etc. I will be flying to the Philippines for a month to help with the disaster relief after the recent Typhoon Haiyan in November 2013. We will be helping to rebuild schools and houses that were destroyed so the villagers can return to their lives. Whilst there I will be staying with a host family and really learning just how much the typhoon has affected their lives and culture. As this experience is unpaid, I will need to cover costs for things like flights, the Projects Abroad programme fee and vaccinations. I plan to contribute a significant portion of my own funds to this, as well as funding through fundraising events. I am also relying on the help of my friends and family. Even a small amount will get me one step closer to my goal. Thank you in advance for any support you can give.
