Campaign Story
The Viet Celts are a Gaelic Football and Hurling Club based in Hanoi.
We provide Gaelic football training for children aged 4-18 for free in Hanoi.
At adult level, the majority are Irish or other foreign nationals who have moved to Vietnam. We have a good contingent of local Vietnamese players who love the game. Our adult team regularly plays against our rival clubs in Ho Chi Minh City and in a non covid year, we play against other teams in Asia. We are looking for sponsorship to help cover the cost for our local players.
At youth level, we reach children from a wide variety of socio-economic backgrounds. On Saturdays, we train primary school children from local and international schools. On Sundays we train secondary school aged children from some of the most impoverished parts of Hanoi. Many of these children are from the Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation charity. Thanks to the DFA and the GAA, we are able to cover the pitch and equipment fees. We would like to gain sponsorship to provide the older children with leadership training and trips out of Hanoi, where they can coach children in rural villages.
Outside of sport, our club is very active in the community. We have raised thousands of euro for the Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation as well as running clothes, food, and blood drives during the pandemic. There is a large Irish population here in Hanoi and we have a big presence within the local community.
Your sponsorship can go a long way in Vietnam, so we would appreciate anything you do to help our club.
