PLEA FOR HELP! ALL OUR RESCUE DOGS GOT POSITIVE ON MULTIPLE BLOOD PARASITES + ONE OUTSIDE DOG GOT CANCER

Last December 20, we rushed one of our rescue dogs to the vet as they were closed the day before. One of our rescue dogs named Ompong, though alert and eating, has pale gums, seems dizzy and vomited with traces of blood. Multiple tests were done such as CBC, blood chemistry and 3-way test. All his values were dangerous but got good results in blood chemistry. He is positive in babesia and ehrlichia. He needed to have a blood transfusion as his hematocrit was down at 14% that day. Three other healthiest rescues were brought to the vet to have their blood tested and to see if they can be the donor. However, all of them got positive too in either Anaplasma, Babesia and/or Ehrlichia despite having good blood counts. We currently home nineteen dogs and with cases like this, it is possible that all of them are positive despite not showing any symptoms.

On December 21, Ompong's hematocrit went lower at 12.5%. He urgently needed a blood donor. We weren't able to find a donor immediately so the vet offered her dog to be the donor, despite having her dog donated just a month before, just so we can save Ompong.

That morning, we have a scheduled vaccinations to be done at home. While the cats were brought one by one, we discovered one cat named Kongkong being lethargic and has salivation. We stopped the vaccinations and rushed back to the vet's clinic. Kongkong was given intravenous fluids, got an XRay and confined to be observed overnight. Earlier today, the vet did a blood chemistry for Kongkong and found out that his liver and heart has severe problems.

Originally, we were saving up for one of the outside dogs named Nami as she needed chemotherapy. She has Transmissible Venereal Tumour. I got her spayed last August 25 together with other community dogs but she might have cancer already that time. We have done the same for other community dogs who have TVT this year and last year, and got some others to be spayed or neutered.

We remain optimistic despite what's happening and we need to be strong for the other 60 rescues. We are desperately accepting donations during this tough time.
