Η φίλη μου Κατερίνα Καραγιαννίδου, γιατρός του Πολεμικού Ναυτικού είχε ένα υπέροχο χαμόγελο κι ένα πιπεράτο χιούμορ.

Έφυγε πριν λίγο καιρό από καρκίνο στους πνεύμονες και τώρα σίγουρα βρίσκεται σε έναν αστραφτερό Παράδεισο.

Χρειάστηκε να νοσηλευτεί αρκετές φορές στο Ναυτικό Νοσοκομείο όπου την περιποιήθηκαν εξαιρετικά.

Την γνώρισα πριν πολλά χρόνια στο Πήλιο. Στην παρέα μας την έφερε ο Φίλιππος και η πρώτη της ατάκα ήταν: ‘ Μου έχει πει ο Φίλιππος ότι σε αυτή την παρέα πολύ πιάνεστε’. Στα χρόνια του COVID19 δυσκολευόμαστε να πιανόμαστε!, στην μνήμη της, όλοι οι φίλοι της αποφασίσαμε να μαζέψουμε χρήματα για να αποκτήσει το Ναυτικό Νοσοκομείο άλλον ένα αναπνευστήρα ΜΕΘ.

My friend Katerina Karagiannidou, doctor at the Naval Hospital in Athens, Greece, mother of an 11 year old girl and wife, had a shiny smile and a spicy sense of humour. She lost a tough battle with lung cancer last April and now she is found in bright Paradise. She had to be hospitalized many times in the Naval Hospital in Athens where she was treated with care, respect and high attention.

We first met many years ago in Pelion, outside of Volos in Greece. She was introduced to us by her future husband Philippos and her first statement was that she was surprised that he had told her that our group enjoyed hugging a lot. In this difficult Covid -19 year, we have a hard time hugging each other.

To honor her memory, her friends decided to collect money in order to donate to the Naval Hospital in Athens for another ventilator of the ER. Even the smallest donation of money and time will add to this noble purpose so future patients can be supported during their long battle for life.
