V-Day Stuttgart 2020 : Theater to fight violence against women

V-Day is a global movement to stop violence against women and girls. Since 2016, V-Day Stuttgart has been raising money in the Stuttgart community for women’s crisis centers. V-Day Stuttgart promotes and performs creative events to increase awareness, raise money and support existing anti-violence organizations to help all women, cisgender, transgender, and gender non-conforming.

For the past 4 V-Seasons, V-Day Stuttgart has been working with local artists, theaters, musicians, dancers, writers, and creators of many kinds to raise money. We have done Eve Ensler’s two stage-ready productions, The Vagina Monologues, and A Memory, a Monologue, a Rant and a Prayer to audiences in Stuttgart, and supplemented our fundraising with a variety show since 2018. Our successful art auction and crowdfunding campaigns have not only raised money but brought together the worlds of art, theater and community educational fund-raising. Our theater troupe is an active part of the English language theater community in Stuttgart and we are committed to giving back to the community of Stuttgart that we love so much.

Your donations will cover the production costs, costuming and advertising (up to 2000€). We try to make the productions as low-budget (in a good way) as possible, so any extra donation, as well as all proceeds from The Vagina Monologues, will once again be donated to Frauen helfen Frauen and Frauenberatungs- und Therapiezentrum Fetz.

The more money we raise, the more we can donate to the crisis centers!

- Music royalties, 300€
- Set pieces, 500€
- Costuming, 800€
- Advertising, 400€

Please note that everything is run by volunteers:
- All the musicians and artists performing are volunteers, our troupe uses also volunteers for the bar and box office, the costuming, lighting, administration and marketing. We try to get as many services as possible to be donated.
- The 3 theaters where we will perform the show (independent from our organisation), also participate by donating their staff and reducing their operating fees to 20-30%
