Urgent North Horr Drought Appeal

Please help raise funds for the ongoing drought ravaging the Nothern part of Kenya, mainly Marsabit county,North Horr constituency which is the biggest constituency and the most adversely affected. There has been limited support from Government and Donor organizations, due to the vastness of the area covered in this area (county is 70,961 square kilometers). Another challenge is that the communities in this areas are pastoralists and hence tend to migrate often in search of water & pastures for their livestocks. This makes it hard to reach some of them.

The first half of funds collected will be used to buy Hay for livestock, which is the major source of livelihood for the locals. The other half to buy food items for the most adversely affected households.

To achieve the above goal The Funds raised will be used through working together as partners with the local schools, churches,missions, volunteers, Local county government officials, Donor organizations & locals so as to establish a good food distribution network

I relocated to the area one year ago from Nairobi, because of my job posting. it has been a big shock as I have not witnessed rain in the past one year, Young children suffer from Malnutrition and the livestock are dying at a rapid rate (thus no access to milk for young children).
