Still need urgent help for Animal rescue and Healing Center in Thailand

My name is Marina Frei, and I’m the owner of Marina Yoga and Reiki, a healing retreat center in the small town of Ao Nang, Thailand. I am originally from Germany, but Thailand has been my home for over twenty years.

I started Marina Yoga and Reiki to share my passion for Yoga and healing with the community of Ao Nang, and countless tourists, locals, and volunteers have enjoyed this space over the years. It fills my heart with love to think of the beautiful memories created here, and I am so grateful to continually share my gift of healing with our visitors.

In addition to offering Yoga, Reiki, and meditation classes, I have also turned the center into a functioning animal sanctuary that houses dogs, cats, and birds in need of homes. I have always loved animals, and there are so many suffering in Thailand. I wanted to use this space to help all beings in need, human and animal alike.

Since the Covid-19 crisis began, Marina Yoga and Reiki has struggled tremendously and despite reaching April 21 the center is still feeling the impact of the forced shut-downs and the continual lack of tourism. It has taken a lot of hard work and creativity to keep the center alive to this point. After nearly a year of hoping things will improve, the challenge of staying afloat is still very much a daily battle. Despite the generous donations already received, it still isn't enough to keep us going and I am right on the edge of closing the center and having to surrender some animals to a local shelter. Between the high cost of electricity, water, and my Thai work permit, I simply can no longer afford to cover the monthly expenses required to keep the center running with no business coming in. The cost of animal food is becoming increasingly more difficult for me to pay, and I still have my personal expenses to take care of.

Myself, my lovely staff, and our precious animals are desperately reaching out for help in this difficult time. After nearly a year of little to no business and not many signs of improvement, we must do all we can to keep the center alive, and to provide much-needed homes to the abandoned, injured, and mistreated animals of Ao Nang. The world needs healing right now more than ever, and I have dedicated over two decades of my life to help bring it to this community. I hope with all of my heart that I can continue to do so. As a healer, I've been compelled to do everything I can during this difficult time to help those in the community as well as those overseas facing a similar challenge. The kind donations received already have been life-saving to not only supporting our center but also helping other animal centers and charities across Asia stay afloat and keep making a difference. I'm a firm believer that we're all in this together and giving, no matter how little can have a lasting positive effect that ripples out to make an even bigger impact.

At this point, we've raised just over a third of the total money needed, all of this amount has been used o date and shared as much as possible with those around me in need. The local people of Ao Nang are struggling just as much or more as I am, and sometimes they come to me hoping I will have extra food or money to give. I am sincerely grateful that I've been able to use these donations to not only support myself and my business but also others in desperate need of support.

Lastly, I am offering an array of free services for anyone who donates. I can perform Shamanistic and Reiki distance healing with divination, tarot card reading, or distance animal healing and communication.
