UPDATE JULY 15 - FEMALE RABBIT WITH THE BROKEN LEG
Orejitas surgery went well Thank God! She is already waking up; Dr. Miguel Araya tells us that there was already callus bone (the bone was beginning to weld in the wrong position) so he had to reposition the bone and place the plate with 6 screws! A complicated but successful surgery Thanks to all your support!
I opened this funding page to help the rabbit shelter where I adopted my rabbit. They are called Albergue Rabitos y Orejitas para Conejos y Cobayas. https://www.facebook.com/orejoncitos.adopciones/
They are located in Heredia, Costa Rica. You can find their page on Facebook in the link above. They promote the work of their shelter mainly on Facebook and the amount of support and donations they receive barely covers the monthly care and medical costs they currently have. They are taking care right know of more than 60 small animals. Most of them rabbits.
We need urgent funding for two projects:
1. The first project is for a roof in the garden of the rabbits to protect them from further attacks. The shelter lost 6 rabbits on July 6 2018, who died horribly because of poisoned carrots that were thrown over the wall. We need to cover completely with a roof this green area where the rabbits exercise and play, to avoid further hate crimes against this shelter that rescues and nurtures back to health abused and abandoned rabbits. When the rabbits are recovered they give them in adoption to responsible adopters. They are not receiving any additional rabbits to the shelter until they are able to ensure their safety
2. The second project and the biggest priority right now, is about a female rabbit they rescued, that has a broken leg. The cost of operation is extremely high for the shelter. The operation is very urgent because the rabbit is in a lot of pain. But they do not have the funds for the cost of 251,250 colones (conversion in dollar 444,19$). You can find the vet quotation in the pictures.
Instead of donating here you can also donate directly through their facebook page of the shelter. If they can get the donation directly it is simpler for them. Their donate button on their facebook page will take you to their Paypal account:https://www.paypal.me/Albergue
I thank any collaboration and support for this shelter no matter how small.
