Urgent Funding for COVID19 protective gear for DOCTORS

Please save doctors from COVID19!

As COVID19 spread across the globe, it reached my homecountry as well. While US, Germany, Australia and others support their citizens and have strong healthcare system in place it is not true for Russia. This country historically did not have a well-developed medicine thanks to corrupt government, as a result leaving thousands of medical personnel on the verge of survival. They had to buy their own uniforms, medical instruments and treating their patients, while also filling tons of useless bureaucratic paper work. It does take a heavy toll on many of them – many professionals left medicine and started to work somewhere else or migrated to other countries, who value human life and work of doctors. As a result, Russian healthcare is understaffed and underfunded.

Russian medicine was not in good shape before COVID19, but right now, it is living hell. Currently, Russia has more than 10,000 new COVID cases every 24 hours and overall 300,000 infected across the country, which places us to the second after US. There is critical shortage of protective gear: protective suits, masks, gloves etc. Many hospitals across Russia do not have division between green zone (Clean Zone - treatment of patients without COVI19) and red zone (Dirty zone – COVID19 patients). However even in this horrible condition, strong men and women are fighting for the lives of people with limited shortage of gear, because if they not do that who else is going to do that. Instead of changing masks every 2 hours, they wear them for 5-6 hours. Same with suits and gloves. Every piece of gear counts. However, doctors still suffer and die. Many do not see their loved ones and cannot even say goodbye, when the time comes. No one wants to die, but these people die because of lack protective equipment and zero support from Russian government. More than 220 of them died already. 50000 USD will fund:

• Medical equipment such as masks, gloves and protective suits
• Medical product such as hand sanitizers, disinfectors.
• New COVID19 tests( Russian tests have around 40-70% chance of failure to indicate COVID19)
• Rent places for doctors and nurses to rest and sleep ( they spend endless amount of time in hospitals, where they sleep, eat and work. Many of them on the verge of collapse).
