Urgent Emergency Support for a Young Mother that just had a Miscarriage

I just off the phone with a young woman that had grown up many years ago in our AMURTEL Family and needs emergency support after the sudden and tragic loss of her unborn baby. Besides coping with shock and loss, she ended up with unexpected medical expenses that have sapped the couple's meager income and left her without enough to eat this month.

It is hard to believe. She and her partner had recently called me, only a couple of weeks ago, very excited to tell me that they were expecting a baby. Already she was several months into the pregnancy, and so far, everything had been going well. She had good medical care, was taking vitamins, eating well, etc. She had that beautiful mysterious glow of an expecting mother.

A few days ago, she had pain, began bleeding, and needed to be rushed to the ER. After a long ordeal, that she isn't even able to bring herself to describe yet, she lost the baby.

While this is a really sad loss, and unfortunately there isn't anything that can be done to change it, what you can do is make sure that she has enough to eat, and can cover rent this month. Rent is due in just a few more days, leaving them with the anxiety that they may not have a place to stay.
