URGENT: Elsa needs your help!

Summary

This is Elsa and she needs your help immediately to save her life.

Elsa is a stray cat and needs immediate surgery (ideally in the current week 31/7 - 4/8) because she has 3 fractures in her pelvis. She urgently needs this operation because the fractures prevent her ability to defecate, so there is also no chance of her surviving without this operation!

We are appealing for help to raise the cost of the surgery (600 € + 300 € for additional medical expenses, etc. during her recovery).

My wife and I will personally contribute to the expenses, but unfortunately, the total amount required is far beyond our financial means, which is why we are asking for your help.

We would really appreciate it if you could help us save her life.

Finally, we would like to make a second appeal, please contact us if would consider adopting her to provide her with a better life. Even friends from abroad, it would be our pleasure for you to adopt her and we, from our side will prepare everything required for the procedure (vaccination, deworming, passport, means of transportation, etc.).

* any amount left over from Elsa's medical expenses will be given to local volunteers to cover the cost of caring for stray animals in our area, where there is a great need (for any information about how this money is used, please contact us – we will also we keep you updated here).

In detail

Elsa is a stray female kitten with a lovely personality who appeared at our door crying, desperate for help, on 27/7/2023, dragging her back legs and unable to stand.

We immediately took her to the vet who discovered through an x-ray, that Elsa's pelvis is broken in 3 places.

Due to the seriousness of the injury, Elsa needs to go to a specialist orthopedic vet. This surgery needs to be done as soon as possible (ideally in the current week 31/7 - 4/8) and this is an urgent call for help and we thank you in advance.

After contacting the few orthopedics that exists in Athens, we found a specialist vet who agreed to operate on her for 600 € (while all the others were asking for much more)

We also want to thank some volunteers from our area (Alexandra & Ntina), for their guidance and for lending us the crate we are using for Elsa.

Adoption

In addition to what was mentioned in the summary, I would like to add that Elsa is a beautiful cat, she's spayed and we will know her approximate age when the surgery is done. Despite her pain and suffering, she is so quiet, friendly and cuddly.

She will really love you because since we have only been hosting her for a few days, she is already showing us so much love and gratitude for looking after her and taking care of her.
