Tsak Bam Festival is a spontaneous contemporary art festival that takes place on the island of Aegina, Greece, outside the city centers and city walls. It gathers people from all walks of life and art to give voice to whatever is urgent in the here and now. To offer space for experimentation, risk, dialogue and collaboration. To re-imagine and redefine contemporary art and its relation to the public and the environment. With whatever we have available.
2022 takes the 5th Tsak Bam Festival inland, to the village of Mesagros, known for its agricultural tradition, still alive to these days. With this move we take the dialogue with the local population further, and bring more people to discover the inner beauties of Aegina. The programme will include artistic events in situ (performance, music, installations, theatre, dance, video screenings) on July 15, 16 and 17, 2022.
Creative workshops for children and adults will complete the festival programme.
In collaboration with filmmaker Oliwia Tado, we are creating the documentary “ inhabitants” (« κάτοικοι» in Greek), which deals with how people coexist, and their relationship with the island of Aegina. It will premiere at the community centre of Mesagros during this year’s Tsak Bam Festival.
To make all this happen, we rely on lots of voluntary work, donations, small sponsorships of local organisations. We ask for your additional support. All of your contributions go directly into the material and technical needs of the festival, lighting, sound, building material, posters, flyers, transportation, contribution to the artists’ living expenses.
Any contribution is welcome and makes a real difference!
We hope to see you at Tsak Bam Festival!
