Trees&Circles fundraiser for the Uganda Community Farm

The Uganda Community Farm — UCF — is a nonprofit social enterprise situated on 12 acres in Namisita, a village in a remote part of Kamuli, eastern Uganda. Thei goal is to place the rural poor in the remotest areas of eastern Uganda on a self sufficient path from poverty.

Here some words from Anthony Kalulu, UCF founder:

"By starting the UCF, I had two goals:

1) grow ample food, so I can escape hunger. Today, we have a lot of food at the UCF.

2) work with many fellow poor farmers to produce specific crops that we can pool and market together, so we can access better markets. Along the way, I came to learn that agricultural markets were very inaccessible to rural poor farmers. It is perhaps the biggest challenge that keeps all small farmers in poverty. I have since made it my goal to do something to change this.

I would be very humbled if you could help me use my remaining time on earth to bring change in a rather impoverished remote rural part of the planet where nothing is in place to end extreme poverty."
