School Fees and Trees for Education

I am excited to introduce Ustawi Trees for Education Program, a flagship initiative of Ustawi Afrika, a non-profit that empowers rural women in Africa sustainably. The program offers full school fees to children whose parents plant and nurture trees for one year, while also providing them with meals and income from the sale of seedlings and fruits. The program helps to conserve the environment and improve the livelihoods and education of rural women and children.

We are raising funds to support the education of David and Veronica. Here are their stories.

David, along with his siblings, resides with their elderly grandmother. In the heart of the harsh economic realities and the arduousness of rural life, their grandmother has become not just a caregiver but a beacon of strength. However, a recent bout of illness has left her overwhelmed, casting a shadow on the family's already challenging circumstances.

Veronica faced the early loss of her father. Left in the care of her hardworking but economically strained mother. She is one of five siblings striving for an education against the backdrop of rural life. Her mother, a determined farmer, battles the elements to make ends meet, yet the struggle to provide education for all her children is a formidable one.

These stories represent the resilience and determination of David and Veronica to break free from the cycle of poverty through education.
