Travel with a purpose: Tawi-Tawi Gift Giving

This coming September 24, me and Sir David, a kind-hearted British travel blogger (silverbackpacker.com- who has been backpacking around the Philippines for the past three months) will be visiting Tawi-Tawi, the Philippine’s Southern frontier.

Donations raised for this campaign will be used for our gift giving to Badjao kids of Tawi-Tawi. Badjao or widely known as “sea gypsies” is a Philippine ethnic group living in houseboats.

Below are the goodies that we will be buying from the donations raised:

1. School supplies (pencils, erasers, sharpeners, crayons, pad papers, notebooks)
2. toys
3. bath soaps, shampoos, toothbrushes, toothpastes
4. t-shirts and slippers

We would be more than happy to have your support and help us spread love in Tawi-Tawi.If you can help by donating the price of a cup of coffee, we know that the kids will appreciate your gift very much.

Story behind the photos in this campaign (One Armed Wanderer):

Launched my very first "Travel with a Purpose" campaign during my visit in Islas de Gigantes in Iloilo. My girlfriend and I bought 2,000 Peso worth of toys, school supplies and basic necessities for the island’s locals. We surprised several kids and families who were part of the scallop industry of the island. Sadly, we only had limited goodies and were unable to give gifts to the entire community. Still, it was such a meaningful and heartwarming experience to travel the breathtaking Islas de Gigantes and bring smiles to the locals at the same time. (some photos in this campaign)
