Thor Thunderpaws

Update posted by Meghan ?? On Jun 14, 2014

I just wanted to give an update to our backers....and a HUGE THANK YOU!!!

Thor went in for a precautionary top-up of fluids on Tuesday night. He was released Wednesday with the good news of gaining 300g, perfect 101 temperature, the clearest sounding lungs he's ever had, and our vet is very, very happy. I have strong antibiotic injections for him and we're going to see the vet every 4 to 5 days for a steroid boost and check up.

Thor's been playful and eating 125-150g of food (out of 225g). He even had a proper sniff around the garden for the first time. His legs are a bit sore, especially the back right due to the IV needles, but those should be feeling better soon.

The money raised so far will pay off the current bill! Wahoo! And hopefully, we'll only have to go in for steroid and antibiotic boost and check ups. €1200 later, the vet has stopped charging us for the meds and if we want to place a feeding tube (which we thought about on Monday since it was still very bad then), he'd do it for only €200. Overnights are €65 each, so that's what I'm hoping we don't have to do anymore.

I hope we can continue to raise money to donate to other animals in need. Thank you for all your support, everyone. Really, really, was my birthday wish for Thor to be better...and he IS getting there!

If you haven't already, please send a message to my Facebook with your mailing address. :)

Thor is a great little pup, but he does need a lot of vet help to live, and vet help costs quite a few quid.
