US$12,631raised of $12,000.00 goal goal
Education and information are the keys to protecting and sustaining the planet we call home, and that’s what this fundraiser is all about. First, let me tell you about Socotra Island and its people, who we hope to help through this project.
Socotra Island is a unique archipelago, with more than 700 species found nowhere else on the planet. This place is considered a zoological and botanical treasure trove and refugia for relic endemic species. Unfortunately, now some of nature’s rarest creations on this land are at risk.
People living on this mystical island heavily relied on providing ecotourism services in the past, but that wasn't the case in the last 4 years. Unfortunately, civil unrest sparked disruption in these people’s lives and they've been almost fully isolated from the outer world. As all Socotrans have been struggling for existence over the past few years, those at the greatest risk are schoolchildren, who are in desperate need of educational supplies and getting the education they deserve.
Here comes our part…
My goal from this project is to give the young generations on this island a chance to help preserve their homeland by providing the means to seek knowledge and receive proper education in collaboration with The Education Office of the Province of Socotra.
This fundraiser will aim to provide a digital library to the youth, supply 8 high schools with educational supplies and IT equipment, and provide 1-year salary for a teacher. It will also help every child get the education they deserve and help young generations to better preserve their mystical homeland.
The supplies will consist of five sets of projectors, computers, screen boards, Microsoft Window’s operating systems, CD-ROMs, RAMs, SVGA Adapters, 8 MB RAM, Dual-Band Sound Cards, school furniture and much more.
With your help, I’m hoping to raise $12,000 in order to provide all that’s mentioned above in November 2021 when the Jurassic Ultra challenge takes place. The Jurassic Ultra is a Multistage Ultra-Marathon with a total distance of about 340 kilometers over 8-9 days, with the purpose of raising awareness about the island of Socotra, its people, and our charity cause while keeping everyone updated on how this will change the lives of so many people living there.
Your support has the power to transform lives and preserve some of nature's rarest creations on Socotra Island - “Galapagos of the Indian Ocean”
Donate now to help the children of Socotra, to provide better education which so too will contribute to developing knowledge on species preservation and care. Every penny counts, and all contributions - no matter how big or small - are much appreciated and will surely make a difference. 🙏

I had a successful campaign with Charity Water, and I was fortunate in 2018 to raise above $24,000 to complete 2 water well projects in Sierra Leone, and provide 804 families with access to clean water after taking part in the 4 Deserts Grand Slam – Racing The Planet.
