Greetings!

My name is Alison Morgan, more popularly known as Queen Zion Ites, The Itesologist. I am a young woman passionate about wholistic wellness through the use of cultural art forms such as the visual, culinary, divinatory and performing arts. I have been using the arts as a part of what I call my medicine bag on my personal wholistic wellness journey, and am feeling ready to embark on a broader mission to continue learning and sharing more of that medicine with others at home and around the world.

Interested in knowing a little more? You can go here to read more about me and my works.

NOOOW To why we are really here!

In keeping with my personal mission and also for the spontaneity and brevity of the opportunity, I dared to apply, through THE SOUTH SOUTH COLLECTIVE (an artist led collective aimed at helping artists create sustainable livelihoods) to be a part of the Pan African Creative Exchange (PACE) Dramaturgy Lab, PACE+ Forum and the 25 year old Vrystaat Festival this Summer to learn how to develop myself, my business and my audience, to learn cross art form marketing, and to liason and network with international industry players, buyers and fellow artists and artisians... and well? To my surprise I was accepted!

Foooorward march ooo... I now have the task of raising at least $4000 US to be able to travel across the world to Africa in order to take advantage of this really awesome opportunity. Not only do I want to have the experience of what this opportunity directly offers, but as a lover of many things African from the Culture, to the Music, the Dance and the Spirituality... being able to touch the Motherland is simply a dream come true! I hope to be able to link up with other dancers and mentors and take full part in the African culture in order to enrich myself and my business' offerings in the best and most nourishing way possible!

WANNA KNOW HOW YOU CAN HELP?

Thank you for asking. You can plead get any amount you are led to by selecting the DONATE button to the right.

I would have loved to offer rewards directly on this platform but because of the PayPal restrictions on Jamaica, I will not be able to access the money immediately in order to do so, however your pledges will assist me with purchasing my ticket, and once the campaign ends, I will withdraw the lump sum in order to prepare craft and merchandise to bring with me to the continent, as well as assist in taking care of my personal expenses of food, transportation, accommodations and per dium. To preorder shirts however, please visit www.billodex.com, and type in GAAN A AFRICA in the search box to see what we have. Donations are accepted via this medium as well.

My goal amount is minimum £4000. My first deposit towards my ticket is just a little under half that amount, the last time I checked. That price could easily have changed be more as we speak.

It would be my intention to have an array of my works with me at the festival and fringes, as well as in any other spaces where I can not only showcase but network with others who are of like minds and hearts from Motherland, and across the world. My works include my finished EP of my new single “Thank Ya” plus more new music, some new culture inspired designs representing the new direction & expansion clothing line, some craft/crochet pieces and more. I would also like to have my website completed before I make the trod across the seas. Having such a platform will enable continued support of myself and business, regardless of my location in the world.

I would like to raise as much money as is possible, an actual amount closer to £7400 in order to accomplish all that I would like to including all mentioned above. Airfare from here to ZA, checked last in March, was estimated at £3100 ($4000 US), the rest would be allocated towards the accomplishments stated above. MAIN FOCUS is getting across to ZA to participate in the B2B workshop and forum, perform in the festival, and to have with me a bit of merchandise including my music to sell. This totalling is £4000.

For more information, or to donate/ contribute/ support our efforts in any other way not mentioned above, please email for more information.

If you are not able to donate in cash, please support this campaign by sharing it with as many individuals as is possible and assist a young Jamaican entrepreneur with manifesting her dream of reaching Africa, and solidifying her business and it's mission.

Thank you in advance for your kindness, and your time. And thank you for your support as well. This whole experience is NEW to say the least... But I am simply eager to give my best shot... as it is written- FORTUNE FAVOURS THE BRAVE.

With Much Gratitude,

Ites.
