We are 4th year Thomasian Business Economics students taking a Project Development course in University of Santo Tomas. With the goal of developing a project that would create a sustainable social impact, we have decided to help a community in Sitio Putol, Cavite.
The community of Sitio Putol, with 35 households that rely solely on agriculture, lacks access to proper infrastructure and electricity which deters them from getting the services they need. Because of this, children often have difficulty studying during the night. Apart from this, most of their livelihood relies on light making night time in the area economically inactive.
The Sulo Project aims to help address the problem of lack in basic necessities in the chosen community, which is electricity and light by providing solar panels, batteries and lighting to Sitio Putol, Cavite. Project implementation will be on the 3rd week of March with the hopes of helping upwards 10 households.
