My name is Maruf Mohammed.I am a cantor environmental advocate.I have led several environmental campaigns in Ghana and became a proponent in the construction of a comprehensively and resourceful climate resilience strategies in the country. I am also the founding director of Green Focus Africa, a youth-led non profit organization whose purpose is to promote environmental security, combat climate change and create a low carbon sustainable future. The organization acts by providing education on forestry management, agroforestry and agroecology and devise new ideas on regenerative agriculture . My goal is to engage in community development initiative to create solutions to environmental challenges and increase awareness about the negative ramifications posed by climate change. In an attempt to build a zero carbon economy, I have been pressuring the government and local authorities through radio discussion into helping limiting emissions and end the use of fossil fuels in our energy generation and championed it by using solar energy.
As a climate activist,I am working towards a world where all people live in a safe climate and healthy environment, and affected communities are empowered to transition and adapt. To have a better world with clean energy that never runs out, sustainable food production, fair and connected communities, there should be stringent measures to tackle global climate change pandemic so the places we love can thrive.
I am attending the UN CLIMATE CHANGE CONFERENCE COP 25 taking place in Santiago Chile from December 02 to December 13 2019 to advance the implementation of the Paris Agreement towards reducing emissions and reaching global target of 1.5° before 2030.I am raising funds to enable me attend this august conference to take ambitious action to combat climate change to increase resilience in our respective societies.
