The Pitch: An absurd and Kafkaesque story about Leo, a failing writer who finds the corpse of an old man in his apartment. Fearing that he will be blamed for murder, Leo goes on a journey of procrastination that will eventually leads him back to the inevitable confrontation with his reality.
In a dreamy and dystopian world, where bad news and death are the daily bread. Repression and postponing become a mean of survival.
A film Adaptation of Daniil Kharms short story The Old Lady written and directed by Liel Simon, creative producer Victor Buzalka, Director Of Photography Alexander Brack. Produced by the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (dffb). Shooting in August 2017 in Berlin.
What We Need :
The film will play in our invented and unique dream world: an alternative past of post war atmosphere and dystopia. We need to fund 1,500 Euro in order to be able to create this illusion and to make our film do justice to the story. The money will go to the Production design; Costume, Props and mainly for building our three set's a "Butchers bar", Sally's Flat and Leo's Flat.
