The Battle of a Lifetime

Romer Jake Daguplo Posia, my dear cousin, is in the fight of his life against stage 5 chronic kidney disease. Born with only one kidney, and being an abnormal one too, his condition has escalated to a critical stage.

His symptoms are severe: his abdomen is swelling, and he's struggling to breathe due to complications. The inability to urinate properly has led to fluid accumulation, requiring weekly draining. Tragically, this fluid has recently turned to blood.

An Urgent Cry for Help

Romer's situation has become dire. He's been admitted to Malaybalay and referred to Cagayan's NMMC for urgent surgery to address a cyst in his abdomen. Our family's resources are depleted, and the distance to the hospital has only compounded our challenges.

But we refuse to lose hope. We believe in the power of compassion, community, and prayer.

Romer's family has sacrificed everything, selling all their possessions to cover his medical expenses. His father, a carpenter, and his mother, a dedicated teacher who serves their barangay by teaching students for free, are struggling to make ends meet. Every peso is a lifeline.
