Temporary Cage for Blind Cat & Fostered Stray Kittens

I know this sudden message after a year might be surprising, I have not been able to post a lot of updates but I do feature Nacho from time to time in my instagram stories, if you are already following me there, you may message me if you’d like an update on Nacho.

If you don’t remember me, I’m deah, Nacho’s fur mom, a year ago I set up a gogetfunding page to ask for financial help for Nacho’s eye removal & mandible correction.

Post surgery:

Nacho has been doing well for the last year, they told us that his way of life with change drastically and advised euthanasia if we couldn’t afford the fees, but because of your generous hearts, we have been able to push thru with the surgery and thankfully saved Nacho’s life. He is permanently blind in both eyes, and his mandible (though shattered), the pus was drained; they warned me that there would be a high risk of infection after this, but our boy still proves himself a survivor. Since then, he has never been taken to the vet due to sickness or any infection. He lives happily roaming around the house even when he is in total darkness, he still manages to play, knead some bread, and likes to snuggle

I am messaging now to ask for help. Nacho is not sick in any way, but there have been some behavioral changes. What allowed the cruelty a year ago was that he likes to try to escape. The day of the accident, he managed to wiggle thru some holes in the back window which is now permanently damaged and beyond repair. He also found a way to escape thru some holes in our roof (I can send a video of this, I can also send video proof of Nacho outside). Now this is troubling because the maltreatment actually happened in our street. There were drunkards drinking by the road (as it is a common practice in our country) and Nacho probably tried to snag their food (it’s called “pulutan” here, snacks or some meat paired with beer). I am worried it will happen again. He has been neutered even before the accident last year, he is fed well and given fresh water. He has a playmate here (our other rescue) yet he still likes to go out everyday. I have tried my very best to do everything that is possible that he doesn’t get out, even considered putting him in a harness or used a cage (a foldable one), but every single time, he still manages to escape.

I am knocking again for help. Life has been soo hard lately and sales in our small business have been really low in the past few months but thankfully we are still able to feed the kitties. I have decided to ask help in buying Nacho’s cage. A spacious one that even if he is blind, he can still play and sit in a hamock. I am planning to also give him a friend in there with him because Nacho does seem to feel lonely a lot (I have to work and sometimes leave the house). I love him dearly and rehoming him will shatter me. We have been thru so much and I don’t want to give up on him. The cage I am looking at to buy is worth 200$. It is sturdy and can house 6 cats. It will also help us with our temporary residents (rescue kittens that we foster, deworm and find forever homes for).

If you could help us in anyway, advise, prayers, and financial help, it would be greatly appreciated. At the moment, I have 30$ set to pay for the cage that we are meaning to buy.

I know this is rather long, and not a fun read. Too many details and awkward sentences but since you have helped us and I know you have already trusted me, I still think it is also right to inform you of all the details that I could give.
