Survivors With Biros Summer 2018 Fundraiser

Survivors With Biros Summer 2018 Fundraiser is the first annual fundraiser for our group. An exciting use of the funds raised will be a handmade banner to be designed in collaboration between our writing group and a local artist so that we can have a visible presence at community parades. Funds will also go towards key resources for our writing groups.

Our Fundraiser this year: Survivors With Biros will participate in the Streets of Sligo 5K on 4 August 2018. On 5 August 2018, we will host a potluck picnic where everybody brings something to eat to share and contributes a donation to join the picnic.

What it is like to survive childhood sexual abuse? How can survivors heal and thrive? Using expressive writing, Survivors With Biros seeks to empower men and women across Ireland who have suffered such abuse to speak for themselves in answer to these questions. What impact does child sexual abuse have on real lives? What do survivors need from the wider community? Going forward, Survivors With Biros will provide a platform to speak up for better support and better futures for survivors at targeted events for those who shape policy.
