Campaign Story
On March 10 in Ecuador, a close friend's father was struck by a car. He survived the accident, but both legs were broken and he sustained internal injuries. To break bones in the legs requires tremendous force - and the trauma was extensive. Cristina's father was not insured, and the relatives did not have enough to cover the total of the surgeries. Cristina is family to me, and her family is my own.
Cristina's dad was refused surgery because he could not pay, which is when I decided to create this request. As of this morning (11/12) I learned that he was going to be operated on under an "emergency program," but that the family will still need to pay a reduced amount.
Please help me help Cristina and her family. I will return the favor should a similar need arise - and in the long run that's a likely bet.
If you are reading this request, it's because I contacted with you 1:1 - live, on the phone or in email, and directed you here to help - or because someone forwarded this project to you. My intent was to only ask people I know and trust.
I am requesting donations in the $300-500 range. This is a do-able number for the people I invited. Plus - when it's my turn to contribute to your project, it is something I know I will be able to return.
The instructions say to mention what "rewards" I can offer. How about, "Feeling great all week because you helped someone in need?" It's not a reward I can actually give you, but a gift you can give yourself.
I also have an autographed picture of me I can send. Personally - I would take the first option. =)
I will provide updates and (as I said), return the favor when needed.
Thank you for your help.
